And if 10 million skill points are not enough, then how is anyone supposed to venture there in their first four months in eve? For those who have forgotten, those first four to six months getting all the skills you need can seem like a long time. How many people will be driven away from eve simply because they cannot compete in a timely fashion? I never said I really enjoy high-sec... it is just that a newbie like me has to approach this from a cost benefit analysis.
That is why I have no problem with people making more in 0.0 than I might in high-sec. I'm only complaining about the ratio, and about the fact that it might not even be profitable at all in high-sec. But the ratios of resources should be reasonable, especially since all the carebears (and experts like you guys too) will find the exact same best high-sec systems, and we will have uber competition for those scarce resources.
These are the reasons your "Get a life... in lowsec" arguments fall apart.
My question is, how do you manage to get yourself podded in lowsec outside of going through Rancer? Along those lines, being able to function in 0.0 is not a matter of SP, it's a matter of technical know-how and connections, with the former being the more important in my opinion.
As far as this PI thing is concerned, I'm a pvper by nature and don't really get into the whole industry nonsense because that is for bears and bears are for ransoming and popping, everyone knows that. Admittedly though, I am intrigued by PI as a new way of making money. What you and everyone has to understand is that all these questions you're asking are irrelevant, nobody knows how this is going to play out, they're all just speculating and trying to sound smart. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with that, but don't go thinking their words are gospel. Your best bet is to experiment for yourself as to what the returns are going to be and if it ends up being worth it and then you just live and learn. This is anyone's chance to come up with a good idea and be a pioneer, potentially making some really good ISK to boot.
Bonus Advice! Consider becoming a pirate or scammer, they make the better money anyway. I mean lets face it, anything that is an illegal or unsavory practice in real life is usually a profitable venture in EVE .
